Looking for something a little different to help involve your families in your kinder community early on in the year?

We loved running night sessions for children and their fathers, uncles, brothers, grandparents and other special people around fathers day in 2017 and then adding our special person and mothers day night sessions in 2018.  After such successful sessions we have decided to extend that this year.

 

In 2019, we will be offering Special Person Sessions on request at a time of the year that suits you (subject to availability). The idea of this session is to allow the children to invite an adult (any adult) to the session to work together to work through a number of science activities together. This also gives children a chance to share their new learning space at kinder and involve their special person in their learning. These sessions can be run during the day or at night.

Sessions are run by 2 of our team members (see the about us section for more details on our qualifications.) and are both fun and educating. We do not require additional staff to assist in facilitating individual activities for this session (as we do with our classroom sessions) as each child has an adult with them. This gives educators a chance to interact with the special people as well.

We will be running our special people sessions with a range of exciting science activities chosen specifically for adults and the children to enjoy discovering together.

Our Special person sessions will be a little more relaxed than our general sessions. They will be set up similar to a market place with a variety of different activities for adults and children to move around to and spend as much or as little time at each activity as desired. Activities are suitable for adults with more than one child (such as twins in the same class). 

  

Sessions have been designed to be of interest to adults as well as children and are also chosen especially to encourage maximum engagement from the special people. We received many comments from educators who were impressed with the level of engagement from both children and adults in our 2017 and 2018 community sessions.

Each child will receive something to take home from the 45 min session
